OTTAWA, March 13, 2011 - Once again this year, films from Quebec captured the attention of audiences both here at home and beyond our borders. The quality of the films shown on our screens in 2010 is proof of the undeniable talent of our creators, producers, and professionals. The 13th Jutra Awards offers us the opportunity to pay tribute to the professionals of Quebec cinema who dazzled and surprised us this year.
Our Government understands the importance of continuing to support their efforts. It is essential to create an environment in which they are able to keep innovating in this sector.
On behalf of Prime Minister Stephen Harper and the Government of Canada, I would like to congratulate all those who work in Quebec's film industry. The excellence you display in the art of cinema has contributed to the success and visibility of our film industry. I would like to take this opportunity to congratulate all of this year's winners, such as Lubna Azabal (Best Actress), Claude Legault (Best Actor), Luc Déry and Kim McCraw for Incendies (Best Film).
