MONTRÉAL, QUEBEC, June 16, 2011 — In order to better serve citizens affected by flooding in the Montérégie region, Service Canada is maintaining a presence in the area and implementing a variety of measures to provide ready access to Employment Insurance and Old Age Security benefits.
To find out more about these measures, local residents are invited to go to one of the temporary Outreach Sites set up by Service Canada in the Montérégie region. From Monday, June 20 to Thursday, June 23, Service Canada officers will be on site in Sainte‑Anne-de-Sabrevois and Saint-Georges-de-Clarenceville. The sites are located at the community centre at 1185 28e Avenue, in Sainte-Anne-de-Sabrevois, and at the Saint-Georges-de-Clarenceville recreation centre at 1 de Tourangeau Street.
Service Canada officers are well aware of the problems facing flood victims in Montérégie and will be able to provide them with guidance to simplify access to Government of Canada programs and services.
Citizens can also communicate with us by selecting Apply for Employment Insurance Benefits on our Web site www.servicecanada.gc.ca, by calling 1-800-206-7218 or by visiting one of our Service Canada Centres, including the one in Saint‑Jean‑sur‑Richelieu, at 320 du Séminaire Boulevard North.
