June 13, 2013, Ottawa: The Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) has suspended the license of Establishment 5026, Aliments Pasta-Mer Inc., in Dorval, effective June 13, 2013.
The CFIA has determined that adequate controls for food safety have not been reliably implemented in the facility on a consistent basis, specifically, with regards to steps in the cooling process. This requirement is clearly stated as part of the Quality Management Program (QMP) for the establishment.
No product has been recalled but should any potentially contaminated product be identified, the CFIA will take immediate action.
Aliments Pasta-Mer Inc. has been federally registered since February 2013 and will not have their license reinstated until they have fully implemented the necessary corrective actions as approved by the CFIA.
The CFIA safeguards food, animals and plants which enhances the health and well-being of Canada's people, environment and economy, and access to international markets. Licenses and registrations of registered establishments or companies can be suspended or cancelled for failing to comply with relevant CFIA Acts and Regulations.
