Prime Minister Stephen Harper today toured the Canada Goose Inc. manufacturing facility in Toronto to see first hand the operations of this highly successful Canadian company, which continues to generate jobs and economic growth. The Prime Minister was accompanied by Joe Oliver, Minister of Natural Resources and local MP.
“I was very pleased to have the opportunity to meet with the employees of this marquee Canadian company and witness first hand the pride and quality that go into their world-renowned products,” said the Prime Minister. “I am confident that the measures our Government is taking to lower taxes, reduce red tape and increase market access are helping companies like Canada Goose grow and prosper, while generating jobs and economic growth.”
Canada Goose is a highly successful manufacturer of high quality cold weather apparel with strong international exports. The Prime Minister and company officials discussed the company’s success in Canada and abroad, and highlighted initiatives that our Government has taken to help businesses thrive. These measures include: reducing taxes; eliminating unnecessary regulatory burdens and red tape; increasing access to new technologies and international markets; and helping protect Canadians and Canadian companies like Canada Goose from counterfeiting and piracy.
The company operates some of the most technically advanced down-filling equipment in the country. Its large production capacity in Canada is generating employment and economic prosperity in local communities.
