The Honourable Gail Shea, Minister of Fisheries and Oceans, is currently leading the Canadian delegation at the Seafood Expo North America. She is meeting with buyers, suppliers and exhibitors from across North America and the European Union. Minister Shea stopped at Nova Scotia’s Clearwater Seafoods to talk about its new value-added product launch.
“Consumers palates are sophisticated and they're adding more seafood to their diets for health and nutrition reasons,” said Jeff Duffin, VP Marketing for Clearwater Seafoods. “With Clearwater’s line of value-added products, we've identified a way for in-home cooks to enjoy flavorful, easy-to-prepare seafood meals and for chefs to save time when creating signature dishes for their restaurants and foodservice operations.”
“It is gratifying to visit one of the world’s leading seafood expos and witness firsthand the positive reception that our seafood and our practices around seafood get,” said Minister Shea. “Canada is recognized as a global leader, which is why we are such a big draw at this event.”
