Improvements made possible thanks in part to federal Gas Tax Fund

Residents of the Leduc County region are now enjoying smoother, safer commutes thanks to important upgrades to two major thoroughfares, Township Roads 505 and 510. These upgrades were completed thanks to a partnership involving the Government of Canada, the Province of Alberta and Leduc County.
Township Road 505 is a vital arterial roadway in the northeast sector of Leduc County. Extensive repairs, including sub-grade cement stabilization and paving, were made to a 4.8-kilometre stretch of the road between Range Road 234 and Range Road 241. The Government of Canada provided close to $809,000 through the federal Gas Tax Fund, while Leduc County contributed the remaining costs of the $1,125,000-project.
Township Road 510 is also a main thoroughfare in the same region of the County. Extensive repairs, which were similar in nature to Township Road 505, were performed over a 1.6-kilometre stretch between Range Road 243 and Range Road 244. The Government of Canada contributed close to $61,000 through the federal Gas Tax Fund, while the Government of Alberta provided close to $94,000 through the basic Municipal Transportation Grant. Leduc County contributed the remaining $471,000 to this $626,000-project.
