“The annual Acadian Festival of Wedgeport is a great opportunity for residents and visitors to appreciate the rich Acadian history of this region of Nova Scotia. Residents of Wedgeport are justifiably proud of the strength and perseverance of their Acadian ancestors.”
— The Honourable Shelly Glover, Minister of Canadian Heritage and Official Languages
“I am pleased that our Government has invested in such an important event for Acadians in Nova Scotia. The Acadian Festival of Wedgeport is a great way to bring people together, with the added benefits of promoting local artists and contributing to the community’s economy.”
—Greg Kerr, Member of Parliament (West Nova)
“We are very grateful for the funding from Canadian Heritage. It will help us promote the talent of local Francophone artists, as well as to encourage them to perform on stage and hone their skills. We are the only organization to do this. Recently, one of our talented singers produced a CD of his own compositions. Others have written their own songs. These achievements are made possible through our effort and encouragement.”
—Cyrille LeBlanc, President of the Festival acadien de Wedgeport
