On June 10, 2014, at about 2:30 p.m., lockdown was put in place at the medium security unit at Joyceville Institution to allow staff to conduct a search of the institution.
The safety and security of the institution is the Correctional Service of Canada's (CSC) primary concern. Normal operations will resume as soon as it is considered safe to do so.
Regularly scheduled visits may be affected. Visitors who have already planned a visit are asked to contact the Institution directly.
CSC is committed to preventing the entry of contraband into its institutions. Our efforts help to ensure a safe and secure environment for everyone. CSC also works in partnership with the police to take action against those who attempt to introduce contraband into correctional institutions.
