Thanks to federal and municipal funding
June 26, 2014 – Brantford, Ontario – Infrastructure Canada
Brantford residents will soon benefit from improved traffic flow and increased safety thanks to the reconstruction of Shellard Lane, from Colborne Street West to one kilometre west of Conklin Road. This initiative will widen the road to four lanes to ensure the city's future needs are met as the southwest area of Brantford continues to grow.
This reconstruction will also include a number of improvements including additional turning lanes, curbs and median islands, new traffic signals and signal upgrades, cycling and pedestrian-friendly facilities such as a multi-use trail and sidewalk, storm draining, sanitary sewer and water main upgrades. In addition to the road work, the corridor will also get new lighting and landscape planting, thereby improving the aesthetics of the neighbourhood as well as providing smoother commutes.
