Thousands of travellers expected to cross New Brunswick/Maine border in August
The Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA) advises travellers to prepare for higher traffic volumes and busy border crossings when travelling between New Brunswick and Maine during the upcoming Congrès Mondial Acadien 2014. Congrès Mondial Acadien (CMA) 2014 will take place from Aug. 8 to 24 and will involve a number of special events and activities on both sides of the border over this period.
The CBSA has been working closely with the CMA 2014 organizers and other government partners for many months to ensure that all necessary planning and preparations are in place to support a well-executed and safe CMA 2014.
In anticipation of higher volumes of people and goods during this 22-day period, CBSA will have additional officers and temporary inspection lanes in place to help process extra travellers during peak times.
