The Honourable Julian Fantino, Minister of Veterans Affairs, will visit the Memorial Museum Passchendaele 1917 to announce Government of Canada support for a multi-year commemorative project honouring the sacrifices of Canadians in the Ypres Salient, an area in Belgium which was the scene of some of the biggest battles in the First World War. Minister Fantino will be accompanied by Mr. George Barkhouse, nephew of Private George Price, believed to be the last Canadian soldier killed in action during the First World War.
