August 16, 2014 – La Pocatière, Quebec – Canadian Heritage
The Honourable Shelly Glover, Minister of Canadian Heritage and Official Languages, today announced $54,278 in funding to help the Musée François-Pilote carry out three separate projects.
The Musée François-Pilote, named after the founder of Canada’s first permanent school of agriculture in La Pocatière, is mandated to record, showcase and disseminate knowledge and practices associated with agriculture and food.
“Our Government is pleased to support organizations outside major urban centres like the Musée François-Pilote that help showcase and disseminate our shared heritage.”
—The Honourable Shelly Glover, Minister of Canadian Heritage and Official Languages
“The Musée François-Pilote is grateful for funding from Canadian Heritage to help us continue revamping this institution, founded by Father Paul-André Leclerc in 1974, to make it Quebec’s number one agriculture and food museum. The three projects announced today are concrete steps in the process begun in spring 2011.”
