Travellers advised to plan ahead
On Tuesday, September 23, 2014, from 9 a.m. to noon, officers from the Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA) and other area first responders will be conducting an emergency response preparedness training exercise at the Prescott port of entry.
The port of entry will remain open at all times; however, travellers may experience delays or increased wait times.
U.S.-bound traffic will not be affected.
Quick Facts
- The exercise is part of an ongoing initiative by the CBSA and area emergency response organizations to be prepared to respond to any situation that may threaten the travelling public.
- Other agencies participating in the training simulation include Prescott emergency first responders, Leeds-Grenville Emergency Medical Services, Township of Edwardsburgh-Cardinal Fire Department, U.S. Customs and Border Protection and the Ontario Provincial Police.
- Travellers should take this information into consideration when planning their border crossing and are advised to check border wait times on @CBSA_PCT or visit the CBSA Web site at www.cbsa.gc.ca/waittimes.
