October 15, 2014, Ottawa, ON - Canadian Nuclear Safety Commission
The Canadian Nuclear Safety Commission (CNSC) is asking the public to provide their comments on draft REGDOC-3.2.2, Aboriginal Engagement.
This regulatory document identifies the Canadian Nuclear Safety Commission’s (CNSC) requirements of licensees related to Aboriginal engagement, and provides guidance and information to licensees on conducting Aboriginal engagement activities. This will help ensure consistency in the information provided to the CNSC by applicants. It also supports the broader approach to Aboriginal consultation implemented by the CNSC in cooperation with federal departments and agencies.
Please submit your feedback by February 16, 2015. Comments submitted, including names and affiliations, will be made public.
The CNSC regulates the use of nuclear energy and materials to protect the health, safety and security of Canadians and the environment; to implement Canada’s international commitments on the peaceful use of nuclear energy; and to disseminate objective scientific, technical and regulatory information to the public.
