The Honourable Dr. K. Kellie Leitch, Minister of Labour and Minister of Status of Women, addressed the Mercer Canada Labour and Employee Relations Network (LERN), discussing the roles of unions and employers in important issues including labour relations, health and safety, and diversity. The participants engaged in a lively discussion and shared insights, challenges and best practices.
Through LERN, experts in the field share experiences, best practices and collaborate with the goal of improving labour relations.
The Labour Program develops, administers and enforces workplace legislation and regulations, including the Canada Labour Code. These laws covering industrial relations, health and safety, and employment standards apply to federally regulated workers and employers.
