The governments of Canada and Manitoba are announcing funding for the following five projects in the Parkland Region of Manitoba under the New Building Canada Plan's Small Communities Fund.
Drinking Water Infrastructure
Expansion of the Yellowhead Regional Rural Water System
This project will add close to 30 kilometres of new rural waterlines and 12 service connections to residents and businesses in the Rural Municipality of Westbourne.
The total eligible cost of this project is $1,348,932, with each level of government contributing $449,644.
Wastewater Infrastructure
Minitonas Lagoon Expansion
The project will expand the Town of Minitonas' existing lagoon and repair and upgrade the original primary and secondary cells by installing a synthetic PVC liner.
The total eligible cost of this project is $983,010, with each level of government contributing $327,670.
Hamiota 7th Street Sewer Line Renewal
The project involves the relining of approximately 1,000 meters of existing sewer lines within the Town of Hamiota.
The total eligible cost of this project is $243,177, with each level of government contributing $81,059.
Neepawa New Trunk Sewer
This project involves the installation of a new trunk sewer to address high volumes of effluent currently experienced by the Town of Neepawa as well to provide a reliable solution for future volumes.
The total eligible cost of this project is $1,200,000, with each level of government contributing $400,000.
Swan River (Hayes Street) Pump Station Upgrade & Expansion
This project involves upgrades to the Town of Swan River's Hayes Street Pump Station, including a new electrical system, HVAC, and pumping equipment for the lift station as well as the expansion of the existing building to accommodate the new equipment.
The total eligible cost of this project is $525,000 with each level of government contributing $175,000.
