The Canadian Nuclear Safety Commission (CNSC) is asking the public to provide their comments on draft REGDOC-2.2.3, Personnel Certification: Initial Certification Examinations.
This regulatory document defines requirements for initial certification examinations for critical positions at nuclear power plants (NPPs). Itspecifies the required programs and processes that NPP licensees must follow in the design, development, conduct, marking and grading of knowledge-based and performance-based certification examinations. These examinations aim to verify that persons seeking initial CNSC certification have acquired the knowledge and skills required to work competently, safely and in accordance with the Nuclear Safety and Control Act and its regulations. In addition, this regulatory document ensures that NPP licensees administer certification examinations equitably and consistently.
