November 13, 2014 - Iqaluit, Nunavut – Office of the Minister of the Environment, Minister of the Canadian Northern Economic Development Agency (CanNor), and Minister for the Arctic Council
Minister Aglukkaq today announced the completion of the Inuit Learning and Development project (ILDP), an innovative new initiative that prepared Inuit for potential future employment in Nunavut’s public service. This program was done in partnership with the Government of Nunavut and Nunavut Tunngavik Inc. Today, participants in the project took part in a graduation ceremony in Iqaluit.
Over the past 16 months, the project offered learning and development training for 12 Inuit and gave them the opportunity to gain valuable professional experience through four 4-month full-time work assignments in the Government of Canada, the Government of Nunavut and Nunavut Tunngavik Inc.
