The Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA) has laid three charges against Tyson Nathaniel King (aka Chevon Kimar Trotman) for misrepresentation; use of a document to contravene the Act; and returning to Canada without authorization, pursuant to the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act (IRPA).
The CBSA launched an investigation in August 2014 after it received information from the Calgary Police Service that King, a previously deported person, might be in the Calgary area. The CBSA, together with the Calgary Police Service, apprehended King on October 29, and subsequent criminal charges were laid by the CBSA on November 7.
King allegedly obtained new identity documents in order to re-enter Canada.
King has been remanded into custody and is expected to appear again in Calgary Provincial Court on November 21, 2014.
