The Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA) Criminal Investigations Unit has laid four charges against Donald Edward Lee, 44, of Salina, Kansas, following a firearm seizure at the Coutts, Alberta port of entry. Lee is facing two charges under the Customs Act and two charges under the Criminal Code.
On February 10, 2015, Lee attempted to enter Canada at Coutts. He was referred for a secondary examination, and CBSA officers found a .45 calibre handgun inside the truck. He was arrested and then released on recognizance until his court appearance in Lethbridge Provincial Court on March 27, 2015.

- The CBSA advises travellers that they are required to declare all goods they are bringing into Canada, including any firearms and weapons in their possession.

- Failure to declare goods, including firearms, and other Customs Act contraventions may lead to prosecution in a court of law.
