March 26, 2015 – Bulyea, Saskatchewan – Western Economic Diversification Canada
The Village of Bulyea will benefit from upgraded water storage infrastructure thanks to joint federal and provincial funding announced today by Tom Lukiwski, Parliamentary Secretary to the Leader of the Government in the House of Commons and Member of Parliament for Regina—Lumsden—Lake Centre, on behalf of the Honourable Michelle Rempel, Minister of State for Western Economic Diversification, and the Honourable Jim Reiter, Saskatchewan’s Minister of Government Relations.
The investment will allow Bulyea to build a larger holding cistern, which will double the storage capacity for its treated water and allow it to meet consumption demands. The upgrade will also allow the Village to meet provincial water quality standards and be able to increase the number of residential water connections.
The Governments of Canada and Saskatchewan are each investing $19,833 through the Communities Component of the Building Canada Fund (BCF-CC), with the Village contributing the remaining balance of the $59,500 project.
