March 27, 2015 - Moncton, New Brunswick
The Honourable Gail Shea, Minister of Fisheries and Oceans, and Robert Goguen, Member of Parliament for Moncton-Riverview-Dieppe, spent the day highlighting Greater Moncton’s expanding export industry. After speaking with members of the Moncton Chamber of Commerce about the role of trade in the region, Minister Shea and Mr. Goguen toured the Greater Moncton International Airport to see the products of this growing industry. The recent increase in seafood exports has encouraged Xtreme Cold Ltd to open a new warehouse to accommodate the growing need.
“Canada’s world-class seafood products are heavily sought after around the globe. Our Government recognizes the importance of creating new trade avenues for our local businesses to be able to meet this growing demand. That’s why we have established trade agreements with the European Union and Korea, and more are in Canada’s future.”
The Honourable Gail Shea, Minister of Fisheries and Oceans
“I am proud of our city’s continued economic prosperity. The trade agreements our Government have established have encouraged Greater Moncton’s industries to continue to expand. This new warehouse is one of the many ways our city is growing.”
Robert Goguen, Member of Parliament for Moncton-Riverview-Dieppe
“As President and CEO of Xtreme Cold Ltd., I am very eager to start operations in our new state-of-the-art refrigerated multi-purpose transshipment facility next May and contribute directly in increasing exports of our fish and seafood products from the Maritimes to every corner of the world with our partners at the Greater Moncton International Airport.”
