OTTAWA – The third Canadian Armed Forces (CAF) medical contingent will depart Canada on Saturday to begin training in the United Kingdom prior to their mission in Sierra Leone in support of global efforts to help prevent the spread of the Ebola virus
The following senior CAF leadership will be present to send off the task force:
- Lieutenant-General David Millar, Chief of Military Personnel
- Colonel Peter Clifford, Director of Health Services Operations
When: Saturday April 4, 2015 at 7:30 a.m.
Where: 2 Air Movements Unit, 8 Wing Trenton, Canadian Forces Base Trenton, Ontario
What: Operation SIRONA troop departure; opportunity to speak with the Canadian Task Force Surgeon, Lieutenant-Colonel Colleen Forestier.

This departure event will be open to the inclusion of capturing imagery of all individuals departing. Media are asked to confirm attendance no later than 4 p.m. on April 3, 2015.
