The 2015 federal budget re-confirms the Government of Canada’s strong support for financial literacy.
“I am pleased with the steps the federal government is taking to increase Canadians’ financial well-being,” commented Jane Rooney, Canada’s Financial Literacy Leader.
“Budget 2015 highlights the strategy that was released for seniors last fall called Strengthening Seniors’ Financial Literacy. Building on this early milestone, the budget also points to the soon-to-be released national strategy that will set out specific goals to help all Canadians strengthen their financial know-how throughout their lives.”
“I am also delighted with the announcement of a collaborative effort between the Government and Canada’s banks to support non-profit organizations that work with Canadians first-hand and deliver programs to help them build the knowledge, skills and confidence to make responsible financial decisions.”
