The Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA) Criminal Investigations Division has laid 88 charges against a Toronto man, Nageshwar Rao Yendamuri, a Regulated Canadian Immigration Consultant with the Immigration Consultants of Canada Regulatory Council. The charges come after an exhaustive 14 month investigation into his conduct as a consultant.
Yendamuri was arrested on April 2, 2015 in Toronto. He is facing 44 charges under the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act (IRPA) for counsel misrepresentation and misrepresentation; and 44 charges under the Criminal Code for forgery and use of forged documents.
Yendamuri is accused of submitting to Citizenship and Immigration Canada multiple immigration applications on behalf of religious workers for temporary resident visas, visitor extensions and visitor status restoration, supported by employment verification letters that he forged and/or fabricated. He is currently out on bail with a $100,000 bond and conditions, including but not limited to, no contact with civilian witnesses and not to engage in employment related to immigration on citizenship matters. The investigation is ongoing.
