Urban Machinery’s New Cutting Edge Vinyl Window Fabrication and Processing Centre will increase speed and efficiency

Urban Machinery, a leading machine manufacturer for the vinyl window industry, is creating a new fabrication and processing centre for Ploy Vinyl Chloride (PVC) extrusions at its Fredericton manufacturing plant, thanks to an investment by the Government of Canada.
The Honourable Keith Ashfield, Member of Parliament for Fredericton, on behalf of the Honourable Rob Moore, Regional Minister for New Brunswick and Minister of State (Atlantic Canada Opportunities Agency), joined Urban Machinery officials today to make the announcement.
The project involves developing a high level processing centre with capabilities and flexible configurations to fabricate and cut vinyl sections to manufacture a PVC window. The company will design an automated machine to cut, notch, and punch vinyl components. The performance targets set for the new system may be the fastest in the vinyl window manufacturing industry. Overall, the strategic approach is to develop a machine that will improve Urban Machinery’s production capacity and enhance its competitiveness.
The Government of Canada, through ACOA’s Business Development Program is supporting the company with a $442,500 repayable contribution, while Urban Machinery is providing $147,500.
