The media are invited to attend the homecoming ceremony of Her Majesty’s Canadian Ship (HMCS) Fredericton on July 12.
The ship and crew are returning from their deployment on Operation REASSURANCE in support of security and international cooperation efforts in the central and eastern European region. HMCS Fredericton left the port of Halifax on December 30, 2014 to join Standing NATO Maritime Group 2 in the Mediterranean Sea.
The Honourable Peter MacKay, Minister of Justice and Attorney General, and Rear-Admiral John Newton, Commander of Maritime Forces Atlantic, will be on hand to welcome the sailors home from their deployment.
WHEN: July 12 at 10:00 a.m. ADT
WHERE: Jetty NB, HMC Dockyard, Canadian Forces Base Halifax, NS
Media are asked to arrive at Rainbow Gate by 9:30 a.m. with photo ID. Parking will be available in a designated area near the jetty.
