Funding to improve facilities for Canadian Armed Forces personnel in Canada is possible through the new Federal Infrastructure Investments Program

BROCKVILLE, ONTARIO – Gord Brown, Member of Parliament for Leeds-Grenville, on behalf of The Honourable Julian Fantino, Associate Minister of National Defence, today announced an investment of $1.35 million for renovations at the Brockville Armoury, in support of the Canadian Armed Forces. This project will also help support the local economy and job creation in the community.
Recognized as a Federal Heritage Building because of its historical association and its architectural and environmental values, the Armoury is home to the Brockville Rifles. The Brockville Rifles is one of 15 units which belong to 33 Canadian Brigade Group, of the 4th Canadian Division (4 Cdn Div), Canada’s Army in Ontario.
The 4 Cdn Div is comprised of nearly 12,000 Regular and Reserve members. As part of the Primary Reserve, the Brockville Rifles trains to conduct domestic operations in support of civil authorities. The unit also provides individual augmentees to support domestic and international operations conducted by the Regular Force.
