July 31, 2015 —Ottawa— The Government of Canada will support a project to foster stronger relations between Canada’s Jewish and Muslim communities of North African origin, announced Jason Kenney, Minister for Multiculturalism.
The Communauté Sépharade Unifiée du Québec (CSUQ) will receive up to $260,000 under Citizenship and Immigration Canada’s Inter-Action program. Over the course of the three-year project, the Canadian Francophone Sephardic Jewish community will work in partnership with the Maghrebi Muslim community to develop skills and best practices on integration and settlement issues. The project will bring the communities together to encourage active and engaged citizenship.
