Residents and stakeholders in the Town of Woodstock gathered today at the AYR Motor Centre, formerly known as the Carleton Civic Centre, to celebrate the grand opening of the newly-expanded L.P. Fisher Library, the Woodstock High School Theatre, as well as the AYR Motor Centre.
The Honourable Rob Moore, Regional Minister for New Brunswick and Minister of State (Atlantic Canada Opportunities Agency), and Mike Allen, Member of Parliament for Tobique-Mactaquac, today joined Bill Fraser, New Brunswick Minister of Tourism, Heritage and Culture and minister responsible for the Northern and Miramichi Funds, Arthur Slipp, Mayor of Woodstock, and a number of other dignitaries in a ribbon-cutting ceremony, in an event marking the completion of these three major capital projects.
The Government of Canada, through ACOA’s Innovative Communities Fund, supported two of these projects, including renovations and an expansion to the L.P. Fisher Public Library as well as renovations, and the modernization of the AYR Motor Centre and the construction of a multi-functional field house.
The Government of New Brunswick also supported these projects and the modernization of the Woodstock High School theatre.
