Parade, road closures and low-level flying during ceremony

OTTAWA – The Royal Canadian Air Force (RCAF) invites members of the public to show their appreciation for and remember those who served and sacrificed during the Battle of Britain, by attending the 75th anniversary ceremony on Parliament Hill.
- The ceremony will take place on Sunday, September 20 from 12:45 p.m. to 2:30 p.m.
- Activities will include a parade in which Second World War veterans will march alongside members of the Royal Canadian Air Force and Royal Canadian Air Cadets.
- Current and vintage aircraft are expected to participate in a fly-past, including the CF-18 Demonstration Team and the Canadian Forces Snowbirds.
- Attendees can visit static displays on Parliament Hill, such as a replica Hawker Hurricane and Supermarine Spitfire, climb into a CF-18 Hornet cockpit, and speak with a CF-18 pilot.
- Musical performances will include the Dominion Carilloneur (beginning at 12:30 p.m.) and the RCAF Honorary Colonel, singer-composer Loreena McKennitt.
Street closures: Portions of Kent and Bank streets and all streets on the grounds of Parliament Hill will be closed to public vehicles from 6 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Low-level flying: Please be advised that, weather permitting, vintage and current Royal Canadian Air Force aircraft will be participating in low-level flying over the ceremony.
