OTTAWA — Almost 400 Canadian Armed Forces members will be departing Canadian Forces Base (CFB) Kingston throughout the morning of September 19 in preparation for an exercise at the 4th Canadian Division Training Centre Meaford, Ontario.
Members of the public between CFB Kingston and Meaford may see military vehicles along local roads and highways. Drivers are advised that traffic at CFB Kingston gates may be disrupted briefly as convoys depart and are asked to be mindful when passing military vehicles on highways.
These vehicle convoys are part of an exercise called JOINTEX 15. The training is designed to transform the way the Canadian Armed Forces develop and learn to prepare for future operations. JOINTEX 15 demonstrates the abilities of a Canadian-led Multinational Joint Integrated Task Force Headquarters in the planning and conduct of coalition operations in a joint, inter-agency, multinational and public environment. Nearly 1,000 Canadian Armed Forces troops from across Canada will participate in this exercise.
