The Honourable Dan Vandal and the Honourable John Streicker will make an announcement regarding support for the Yukon’s Indigenous tourism and culture industries.

Whitehorse, August 8, 2023 — Please be advised that the Honourable Dan Vandal, Minister of Northern Affairs, PrairiesCan and CanNor, and the Honourable John Streicker, Minister of Tourism and Culture for the Government of Yukon, will make a joint announcement tomorrow on behalf of the Government of Canada and the Government of Yukon regarding support for the Yukon First Nations Culture and Tourism Association (YFNCT) to deliver programs and initiatives that promote the sector and increase Indigenous representation. They will be joined by the Honourable Randy Boissonnault, Minister of Employment, Workforce Development and Official Languages; Dr. Brendan Hanley, Member of Parliament for Yukon; and Marilyn Jensen, President, YFNCT.

Following their remarks, Minister Vandal and Minister Streicker will be available to answer questions from the media.
