Minister, Mr. Anandasangaree,

Congratulations on your appointment as Minister of Public Safety.

Having met during your tenure as Minister of Justice, I look forward to continuing that spirit of collaboration in your new role as we work together to support victims and survivors of crime across the country.

The enclosed transition book provides an overview of our Office and our current priorities. I was pleased to see that many align with the Canada Strong Plan of our new Prime Minister.

I look forward to scheduling our first meeting, and I will make myself available to meet with one of your advisors if they have more in-depth questions on the attached materials.

I intend to continue working closely with your Office and the Government of Canada until the end of my term to improve outcomes for victims of crime. I trust that our mutual goal is to ensure that victim rights are upheld and that all victims and survivors are treated with dignity and respect throughout their involvement with the criminal justice system.
