Backgrounder: Forty-three new infrastructure projects across Manitoba

Total investment of more than $6.6 million
The governments of Canada and Manitoba have approved a new list of projects under the Public Transit Infrastructure Fund to address key infrastructure priorities with a focus on repairing and upgrading existing facilities and assets for middle class Canadians and their families.
The Government of Canada is providing the Government of Manitoba with $82,840,000 under the new Public Transit Infrastructure Fund, and will fund up to 50 per cent of the eligible project costs. Manitoba and its municipalities will fund the remaining 50 per cent of eligible project costs.
The following 43 projects have now been approved for federal funding of up to $3,109,628, while the Province of Manitoba is investing $1,554,810 and the recipient municipalities are contributing the balance approximately $2,014,449 and are responsible for any remaining costs.
These projects are in addition to the 4 projects announced for Manitoba on July 25, 2016.
