Backgrounder

Investments of more than $62.4 million

Public Transit Infrastructure Fund

The governments of Canada and Quebec are investing $62,455,667 in 34 projects for the Réseau de transport de Longueuil to improve commute times, reduce air pollution, strengthen communities and grow the Canadian economy.

The Government of Canada is contributing $34,697,593, representing 50 percent of the total eligible costs, and the province is providing $27,758,074, representing 40 percent of the total eligible costs. The Réseau de transport de Longueuil will provide the remaining funding.

The 34 projects are under way, which will all be completed by March 2019.
