• The Government of Canada contributed approximately $29.8 million to this project under the Clean Water and Wastewater Fund. The Government of Alberta provided approximately $33.2 million, and the North Red Deer Regional Wastewater Services Commission covered the remaining costs (including a small contribution from the City of Red Deer for future Red Deer wastewater flows).

• The $71-million project broke ground in spring 2017 and was completed ahead of schedule and under budget.

• The Government of Canada will invest more than $180 billion over 12 years in public transit projects, green infrastructure, social infrastructure, trade and transportation routes, and Canada’s rural and northern communities.

• $26.9 billion of this funding will support green infrastructure projects, including $5 billion that will be available for investment through the Canada Infrastructure Bank.
