Montréal, Quebec, June 21, 2021—Tonight, in recognition of National Indigenous Peoples Day, the Samuel De Champlain Bridge will don the yellow, blue, green, orange and pink colour scheme that symbolises Canada’s Indigenous cultures. The display will begin at sunset and last until 1 a.m.
“Tonight’s special illumination of Montreal’s Samuel de Champlain Bridge invites us to celebrate the unique contributions and heritage of First Nations, Inuit, and Métis in Canada. Today, National Indigenous Peoples Day is an opportunity to learn about Indigenous worldviews, perspectives, and knowledge as part of our shared commitment to work towards reconciliation for the benefit of all Canadians.”
