Kelly's Brook Shared Use Path

The project will build a shared-use path from Kings Bridge Road to Columbus Drive to create a continuous 5 km active transportation route for residents of all ages and abilities.

Elizabeth Ave Shared Use Path

The project will upgrade the sidewalk on the North side of the street from Allandale Road to Paton Street to a shared-use path, creating a continuous 1.3 km active transportation route for residents of all ages and abilities.

Columbus and Canada Drive Shared Use Path
Connection

The project will upgrade the sidewalk on the West side of Columbus Drive from Captain Whalen Drive to Canada Drive and the sidewalk on the south side of Canada Drive from Columbus Drive to Cowan Avenue to a shared-use path, creating a continuous active transportation route for residents of all ages and abilities.

Columbus Drive Shared Use Path (Canada Drive to the existing T'Railway)

The project will build a shared-use path from Canada Drive to the T’railway through Bowring Park. Street crossings and intersections will be upgraded to create a continuous route for residents of all ages and abilities

Bridge connection on Columbus Drive over Kenmount Road and across Thorburn Road

The project will upgrade the sidewalk (300 metres) on the East side of Columbus Drive from just North of Wishingwell Road to Wexford Street. This will connect the existing shared use path to create a continuous route for residents of all ages and abilities.

Shared Use Path from Paul Reynolds to Airport Heights

The project will upgrade the existing shared use path to create an active transportation route from the Airport Heights neighbourhood to other parts of the city for residents of all ages and abilities.

Shelter Cube Van

The project will support the purchase of a cube van to replace the current van which is at the end of its useful life.

Community Bus

The project will support the purchase of a low floor hybrid bus to ensure the stability and continuity of the Community Bus senior service.

New Accessible Bus Shelters

The project will support the purchase of 30 new accessible bus shelters and deploying them at bus stops throughout the city. The new shelters will expand accessible amenities and enhance the customer experience while using Metrobus.

Cube Van for Bus Shelter Maintenance

The project will support the purchase of one cube van for shelter cleaning maintenance.

Fleet expansion with 10 electric / hybrid buses

The project will support the purchase of 10 accessible electric / hybrid 24-to-30-foot transit buses for the on-demand transit delivery model to enhance and ensure the sustainability and continuity of this transit service.

Upgrade Depot Building Camera System

The project will upgrade the bus depot camera system to enhance security and safety for employees and assets.

Eight Hybrid 40-foot buses

The project will support the acquisition of eight hybrid transit buses to make the City’s transit services more accessible.

Onboard Stop Announcement System

The project will implement an onboard stop announcement system and a mobile app to improve the accessibility of the transit network.

Metrobus Radio System

The project will upgrade the current analog radio system to a digital system to improve radio and data communications.

Replace-ment of cash farebox collection system

The project will replace the transit system’s existing cash farebox collection system to maintain cash fare payment options and implement new procedures and security for cash bill collection.

Replace-ment of on-board smartcard system

The project will replace the on-board smartcard system (m-Card) for the transit system to sustain the electronic fare payment system and make it easier for transit users to pay with an m-Card.

Avalon Mall Bus Shelters

The project will replace the bus shelters at the Avalon Mall with larger accessible bus shelters.
