The Government of Canada is investing $895,923 through the Active Transportation Fund to support four active transportation projects across New Brunswick.

Shoreline Trail - Hillsborough Segment

This project will extend the Shoreline Trail through Hillsborough around wetland areas and along a protective dike bordering the Petitcodiac River. Work will include landowner consultations, final design, trail construction, signage installation and grading and surfacing on portions of trail segments.

Spruce Lake / Saint John

Cycling and Hiking Trail infrastructure improvement

The Coastal Link Trail Inc. will rehabilitate and repurpose over 4 kilometres of former New Brunswick Railway lands along the Spruce Lake shoreline in Saint John’s to connect to new bike lanes along the Ocean Westway Road in the City’s south end. The trail will create a balanced active transportation network that meets the needs of cyclists and pedestrians.
