Since 2018, PacifiCan has provided $7.9 million in funding through the Women Entrepreneurship Strategy Ecosystem Fund to six B.C. non-profit organizations that help women entrepreneurs access training, networking and mentorship opportunities to grow their business.
One of the six recipients, WeBC, formerly Women's Enterprise Centre, shares the incredible local impact of their WES funding since 2020:
- Over $3.5 million lent directly to women-owned businesses and an additional $2.1 million leveraged, resulting in $120 million in economic activity generated in B.C. from lending alone.
- Over 12,000 women entrepreneurs participated in WeBC business workshops and webinars from over 256 B.C. communities.
- 273 women business owners were matched with experienced entrepreneurs to build skills and confidence through mentorship.
- Over 4,000 women who identify as youth, immigrant, Indigenous, or a person with a disability and nearly 5,000 women in rural communities have been supported with resources and capital.
