President of PacifiCan - Naina Sloan
On January 17, 2025, Naina Sloan, formerly Vice-President, Programs and Partners, Pacific Economic Development Canada, became the President of Pacific Economic Development Canada. Before joining PacifiCan, she held several senior leadership positions within the Canadian federal government. Notably, she was the Regional Director General for the West and North at Environment and Climate Change Canada, providing leadership on program delivery and intergovernmental affairs across a vast region. She also led Natural Resources Canada’s Indigenous Partnerships Office–West, engaging with Indigenous communities on energy infrastructure development. Ms. Sloan also served as the Director General of Operations for British Columbia at Western Economic Diversification Canada. Before joining government, she was Vice-President of Corporate Affairs and Corporate Secretary at Canada Line Project Management Ltd., which developed the rapid transit line connecting Vancouver, Richmond, and the Vancouver International Airport.
