Summer is a great time for kids to discover fun and the natural and cultural treasures of Parks Canada’s special places. That’s why Fort Wellington National Historic Site has created Fort Kids, a program designed to encourage imagination, discovery, and adventure while learning about Canada's cultural heritage.

This popular kids day-program runs every Tuesday until August 16th, with a new and exciting theme each week. Children aged 7-12 are invited to re-live history as time travellers to the War of 1812 and the 1840 Rebellion - periods related to the fort's past.

With themes ranging from Soldier’s Day, to Pirate’s Day and Archaeology Day, there are plenty of opportunities for learning and imagination in this historic location. Each Fort Kids single day session runs from 10:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Space is limited to 20 participants per day so register today to not miss out on this historic adventure! Register for one day, or all days, by contacting Fort Wellington at ont-wellington@pc.gc.ca or by calling 613-925-2896.

Parks Canada protects and presents nationally significant examples of Canada’s natural and cultural heritage, and is developing new and innovative programs and services to allow more Canadians, including youth and newcomers, to experience the outdoors and learn about our environment and history.
