Parks Canada Invites Operators to Manage the Fundy Golf Course
News Release
Fundy National Park’s golf course is a premium 9-hole destination in southern New Brunswick
December 20, 2016 Alma, New Brunswick Parks Canada Agency
Parks Canada has launched a competitive process to find an operator to manage the Fundy Golf Course in Fundy National Park. The Fundy Coast Region, including the national park, is a premium tourism destination in Atlantic Canada attracting a growing base of hundreds of thousands of visitors from around the globe annually.
Third party operation of the Fundy Golf Course will allow Parks Canada to focus on delivering its core mandate to protect and present Canada’s natural and cultural heritage. Parks Canada believes a private sector operator will have more flexibility and capacity when it comes to marketing and operations. These changes will not result in any job losses. Parks Canada employees will continue to work in the national park.
Golf course business operators and those interested in managing Fundy’s beautiful 9-hole golf operations are invited to explore this opportunity by submitting a proposal. The request for proposal process opens today and will remain open until February 15th, 2017. For more information on how to submit a proposal, please visit (http://www.pc.gc.ca/eng/pn-np/nb/fundy/activ/ete-summer/golf.aspx).
