June 23, 2017                               Charlottetown, PEI                            Parks Canada Agency

To celebrate the 150th anniversary of Confederation, Parks Canada is pleased to share the “Imagine a Country” experience on the Confederation Centre of the Arts’ Outdoor Plaza this summer. This interactive activity will be available daily from 9 a.m. – 5 p.m. from July 1st to August 31st.

Imagine a Country is a participatory venture that encourages Canadians to express their ideas and views of their dream country by answering a question inspired by Canada’s former visionaries: “In my dream country there would be …” Responses will be shared through an interactive photo booth onsite, and the messages will be displayed to inspire others, putting participants at the centre of the story and linking the past and present to the future.

Come explore what others have shared, and let us know what is important to you! Join in the fun, sharing your vision of an evolving Confederation and remember to check out the Story of Confederation in the upper foyer of the Confederation Centre of the Arts.

The Government of Canada recognizes the historic significance of Province House National Historic Site to Canadians as the site of the Charlottetown Conference of 1864 and the Birthplace of Confederation.  In 2017, as we celebrate the 150th anniversary of Confederation, there is a great opportunity to help create a link between the historic building and events that shaped our country and the future Canada.
