Opportunity for Canadians to have their voice heard on park management decisions
August 8, 2017 Waskesiu Lake, SK Parks Canada Agency
A draft management plan for Prince Albert National Park is currently available for public consultation.
Canada’s national parks are gateways to nature, adventure, and discovery. Reviewed every 10 years, management plans are a legislative requirement of the Canada National Parks Act and guide the management of Parks Canada’s places.
The draft Prince Albert National Park Management Plan is available for viewing on the Parks Canada website. All Canadians are invited to take part in how management decisions are made and provide Parks Canada with feedback on the draft plan. Input will be accepted until the close of the consultation period on August 15th, 2017.
The final management plan will be based on input from local residents and organizations, visitors, stakeholders, partners, and local Indigenous communities. Through this management plan, Parks Canada is meeting its promise to protect and present Canada’s natural heritage while also providing an opportunity for Canadians to experience and discover our environment in new and exciting ways.
In celebration of the 150th anniversary of Confederation in 2017, the Government of Canada invites Canadians to learn more about our environment. Canada’s national parks are playing a big part in the celebration of Canada 150.
