Parks Canada is pleased to welcome visitors to celebrate Canada Day by connecting with history at Louis S. St-Laurent National Historic Site. Admission is free on this unforgettable day, that will please every age!
Canada Day activities at your favourite National Historic Site!
For the occasion, the home of the former Canadian Prime Minister (1948 to 1957) will open its doors at 10 a.m. Enjoy the opportunity to explore Louis S. St-Laurent’s home and his father’s general store in a casual, festive setting. A multimedia show that recalls the life and career of the eminent politician lets you learn about his political and social accomplishments.
To celebrate Canada Day, a cake will be served in the garden starting at 1 p.m. This special day is the perfect opportunity to enjoy a picnic on-site.
The Louis S. St-Laurent National Historic Site is located in Compton, in the Eastern Townships, about 20 kilometres from Sherbrooke. The general store is located at 6790, Louis-S.-St-Laurent Road. The house and garden are located just behind it. To contact the team on-site, call 819-835-5448.

Visitors can now find Learn-to Camp content in the app and can obtain information on proper camping equipment, tips, and recipes.
