Summary: The Public Service Commission of Canada undertook an audit to identify the impact of a central system data transfer issue for veterans that applied on external advertised processes across government. Sixty-three federal departments and agencies, including PrairiesCan, were subject to this audit, which examined whether veterans met the essential qualifications for selection processes they applied to and whether the preference provision was applied.
For PrairiesCan, the review consisted of five staffing processes and involved nine veterans. The results of the audit concluded that the order of preference was properly applied for the nine veterans identified for PrairiesCan. No corrective action was listed for PrairiesCan, but four recommendations for the Public Service Commission to action was listed in the report.
