Minister Olszewski in Edmonton to highlight affordability measures

January 29, 2026 – Edmonton, Alberta – The Honourable Eleanor Olszewski, Minister of Emergency Management and Community Resilience and Minister responsible for Prairies Economic Development Canada (PrairiesCan), will discuss the Government of Canada’s plan to build a stronger economy and make life more affordable for Canadians.

Minister Olszewski will highlight the most recent measures announced by the Government, which include the new Canada Groceries and Essentials Benefit, as well as initiatives to tackle food insecurity.

Minister Olszewski will be joined by Marjorie Bencz, Executive Director with Edmonton’s Food Bank. Media availability with speakers will follow remarks.
