Regional Tariff Response Initiative (RTRI) attestation and supplemental form

This Regional Tariff Response Initiative attestation and supplemental form is required for for-profit businesses applying for contributions under the Regional Tariff Response Initiative. The purpose of this form is to confirm that the applicant meets the eligibility criteria. Applicants must complete this form accurately and truthfully. The information provided will be verified by PrairiesCan during the application assessment process and additional information may be required. This Regional Tariff Response Initiative attestation and supplemental form is part of the expression of interest and is one and the same document.

• Was viable prior to March 21, 2025 and to the tariffs imposed by the U.S., China and/or Canadian counter-tariffs; AND
• Has minimum sales of 25% in the markets targeted by the tariffs; OR
• Can demonstrate having been directly negatively affected by the tariffs or the uncertainty they create (e.g., increased costs of production materials or from suppliers, reduced sales, additional import/export tax). Provide the following estimates on Canadian inputs.

Describe the type of Canadian inputs used (e.g. raw materials from Canada, imported materials processed in Canada, etc.) and their role in production. Include country of origin for non-Canadian inputs where applicable. (max 2,000 characters including spaces)

Is your organization in the steel industry (as defined above)? (Yes / No)

Is your organization a for-profit business applying for non-repayable contribution funding from PrairiesCan? (Yes / No)

If yes, I further acknowledge and agree that the organization:

• Generate economic benefits for the local economy or a given region (e.g., employment, creation of added value, role in the value chain, etc.) whose target markets may be regional, national, or international; AND
• Play an important role in supporting the local supply chain, with target markets that may be regional, national, or international.

I confirm that the information provided in this attestation is true, accurate, and complete, and that I have the authority to sign on behalf of the Applicant Organization.
